Michelle | Google UX Design Certificate Graduate

Michelle from Parramatta in NSW had a background in economics and business information systems and went into a consulting role after finishing uni. She had been working on business problems in tech, including configuration, user adoption and had been frustrated with launching products that didn’t work properly for clients.

She started to gain an interest in UX and tried out some short courses online. She found most online courses only provided surface level training, so she was looking for something more in depth. The Google UX Design Certificate had just come out and turned out to be the perfect next step.

Michelle particularly enjoyed the video content, hearing from real people in the industry, from diverse backgrounds who are experts in the field. She liked that the UX Design Certificate went through the whole UX process and found the methodology helped in real work situations. The program also helped her build a UX portfolio, which she started complementing with more design projects at her company. She even completed the certificate while working full time in her previous role.
